SUMMARY COMMENTARY
Assets of Securitisers At 30 June 2018, total assets of Australian securitisers were $135.4b, up $2.1b (1.5%) on 31 March 2018. During the June quarter 2018, the rise in total assets was primarily due to an increase in Residential mortgage assets (up $1.5b, 1.4%) and Other loan assets (up $1.0b, 6.8%). This increase was somewhat offset by a decrease in Cash and deposits (down $0.5b, 11.5%). Liabilities of Securitisers At 30 June 2018, total liabilities of Australian securitisers were $135.4b, up $2.1b (1.5%) on 31 March 2018. The increase in total liabilities was primarily due to an increase in long term asset backed securities issued in Australia (up $2.9b, 2.5%). This was somewhat offset by a decrease in loans and placements (down $0.7b, 8.5%). Asset backed securities issued overseas as a proportion of total liabilities decreased to 1.9%, down 0.2 percentage points on the March quarter 2018 proportion of 2.1%. NOTES FORTHCOMING ISSUES
